Ambassador O. Koray Ertaş Confirmed to Speak at 15th UK–Africa Business, Trade & Investment Summit 2025

The organisers of the 15th UK–Africa Business, Trade & Investment Summit are pleased to announce the participation of His Excellency Ambassador O. Koray Ertaş, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the United Kingdom, as a featured speaker at this year’s summit on Friday, 12 September 2025, hosted at the prestigious Royal Horseguards Hotel & One Whitehall Place, London.

Ambassador Ertaş will present on Türkiye–Africa Economic Engagement and Infrastructure Partnerships, highlighting Türkiye’s expanding footprint in East Africa’s infrastructure landscape. His remarks will contribute to the summit’s central theme: “Accelerating Growth Through Partnerships for Global Market Expansion”.

His address will spotlight Türkiye’s growing role in delivering transformative infrastructure across East Africa, including:

• Standard Gauge Railway (Uganda): A landmark $3 billion investment by Turkish firm Yapı Merkezi to construct a 273 km electrified railway from Malaba to Kampala—Uganda’s largest rail project to date—with 40% local supplier participation.
• Road Development: Turkish engineering company Polat Yol is executing key road infrastructure upgrades, such as the Muyembe–Nakapiripirit corridor in Uganda, enhancing mobility and trade flow.
• Industrial Infrastructure: Companies like Level Energy and Potenza Lubricants are investing in East African manufacturing and industrial facilities—boosting local capacity, technology transfer, and job creation.

Türkiye’s approach combines long-term partnerships with a focus on local content and sustainable delivery models—making its engagement highly relevant to the summit’s goals.

With over 500 delegates expected from across the UK, Africa, and international partner countries, the UK–Africa Summit provides a strategic platform to explore public–private partnerships, investment facilitation, and cross-border infrastructure opportunities.
